New Home Builds
The Home-Building Process
Building Construction
Custom-built homes with laser-focused customer experience as top priority, clear communication, with quality craftsmanship.
- Meet with the builder – some think that the first step in building a home is to find an architect or home designer. Early integration with your builder can make your vision and dreams of your home more seamless. Depending on your taste, Ethington Homes & Remodel can pivot and adjust to your needs and suggest who to bring onto our team before digging the hole for your foundation.
- Form the Team – I can make personal recommendations to bank lenders, architects and interior designers based upon your style.
- Estimate – We will sit down with you to go over the specifications of your dream home to get a better understanding of the scope of work, from the color of your door knobs down to the built-in bench in your laundry room.
- Signing – After the final estimate has been given to you, we sign a professional services agreement that requires earnest money down to begin the final stages of plan review for building department submittals.
- Contract – Before picking up the building permit, a final services agreement is signed for the home’s scope of work and all of our services.
- Construction – We work with you and our trade partners to build what is on the plans and specifications sheets.
- Keys – After the build we set a time after closing that is an orientation to your new home, where we also hand the keys over. This is a complimentary introduction to your home, showcasing all the features and maintenance items.

F.A.Q.
How much will it cost to build my home?
The cost depends on many factors, including square footage, overall size, design complexity, materials, finishes, and site conditions. We will work closely with you to create a detailed, transparent estimate tailored to your vision and budget. Whether you already have secured a lot, or are looking for lots, we can help.
How long does the construction process take?
Most common homes take 6-12 months from digging the foundation hole to handing the keys over, depending on size, weather, and material availability. Our team of trade partners and suppliers have been vetted and work with me day in and day out. We have a “well oiled machine”. Part of this machine means giving team members their own time in the home to perform their work and give their highest quality of craftsmanship possible. We’ll provide a clear timeline and keep you updated at every stage.
Can I make changes during construction?
Yes. Through signed change orders, every change you want to see happen can be made through proper documentation. This is good for both parties, and it eliminates any surprises of the project’s budgeting and overall price. With open communication and a flexible approach, we help you make informed decisions without unnecessary delays and or surprises.
What's all included in your services?
At Ethington Homes & Remodel, we manage everything from planning and permitting to the final walk-through and handing the keys over to your new home. This includes budgeting, scheduling our team of trade partners, working with the city/county building inspectors and officials, and ensuring high-quality craftsmanship throughout the project.
What makes you different from other builders?
There are many respectable builders who will build you a great home. I believe that the bare minimum is to be able to provide a great product that you’ll be proud of. Your customer experience is what I value. You don’t go to Disneyland/amusement park solely for the gift shop and the giant turkey legs. After your trip, you remember the details that made everything magical as a whole. Now, imagine having a guide that got you to the front of all the ride lines, or a cast member giving you behind-the-scenes sneak peeks. I pride myself on clear and over-the-top communication on the building process, and want you, as my client, to enjoy your experience.
